West Virginia beer? 49^th out of 50

According to Thrillist, West Virginia ranks 49^th among the 50 states when it comes beer. 

Moonshine doesn’t count, apparently.

Oregon is ranked No. 1 with Widmer Brothers, Rogue, Full Sail and Deschutes leading the guzzling beerfall that includes Hair of the Dog, Breakside, Cascade, Upright, Ecliptic, the Commons, Burnside and Lompoc.

The Portland metro area has more than 70 breweries. The hollers and backwoods of West Virginia are more into corn mash.

There’s some consolation. Mississippi is last.

California, Colorado and Michigan gave Oregon the closest hops for No. 1.
