Jul. 23, 1933 - Aug. 8, 2014

Delores M. Eddy, 81, of Fairmont, passed from this life Friday morning (August 7, 2014) in her home under hospice care, following a brief illness. She was born in Monongah on July 23, 1933 the only daughter of the late James Reedy and Mabel Edna Whitecotton Shaver.

She had been an active member of the Life United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher. Although she was primarily a homemaker she had worked at various positions over the years including being a paper carrier for the Dominion Post for twenty years. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Chapter 34; and had formerly been a Cub Scout den mother.

She enjoyed cake decorating, crafts, watching television and visiting with friends on the phone.

Mrs. Eddy is survived by her son James S. Fallon of Rivesville; her daughter and son-in-law Barbara Ann and Lee Long of Shinnston; step-son Donald D. Eddy of Baxter; step-daughter and primary care givers Denise Eddy and her companion David Oaks of Fairmont; two brothers and sisters-in-law Robert L. and Jo Ann Shaver of Morgantown and Glenn G. and Ruth "Sis" Shaver of Fairmont; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 41 years Robert Glenn Eddy on April 7, 2014; two brothers and one sister-in-law James R. Shaver, Jr. and Wayne Frederick and Nellie Shaver; also a step-son Thomas G. Eddy.

Friends may call at the Frey Home For Funerals (Historic Chapel), 320 Madison St., Fairmont Sunday from 4-8 pm and Monday from 11 am till 1 pm. Services will be held in the funeral home Monday at 1:00 pm with the Rev. Larry Buckland officiating. Interment will follow at the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
