John Yokay III, who lives in Sacramento, is zippy-do-dah-ing it
in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, zip-lining and caving with daughter Petrina on
Saturday and wine tasting with Petrina and John’s wife, Angie, on Sunday.
That followed a stop in San Francisco to watch the Giants play
the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Zip-lining should be a piece of cake for Petrina since she’s an
outstanding gymnast for the University of Auburn – Freshman of the Year in
2010, SEC Academic Honor Roll in 2010. Petrina competes in the parallel bars,
balance beam and all-around.
John and Angie have a son, Johan, who has played rugby in
Poland.
John III graduated from Barrackville High School and from WVU,
as a sociology and history major, before he moved to Las Vegas after graduation.
Twenty years later, he moved to Sacramento.
He does some serious golfing, too. He shot a 79 last week, but
it was “the first time since Grafton in the 1970s.”
His father, also a John Yokay, played for the 1952 state champ
Monongah High football team. Dad, Class of 1953, who once worked at St. John’s
School of Boys in Deep River, Connecticut, lives in Mount Airy, Maryland.
Papa John’s sisters are Leatrice Yokay Greaser, Class of 1950,
who lives in Fairmont, and Pat Yokay Maddox, Class of 1948, who lives in
Bentons Ferry. Both their spouses have passed away.
