Eddie Luszcynski’s funeral

They had a funeral for Eddie Luszcynski, Class of 1947, on Monday, Aug. 25 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Monongah.

The procession took Eddie to Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

No more baseball, football, basketball, golf, bowling or dancing. At least not in this world.

But maybe Eddie can sing in the Heavenly Choir now.

Some of Eddie’s friends reacted to the funeral, including Danny Manzo, Class of 1957, a former baseball teammate after Monongah High.

Danny’s wife, Brenda Manzo, wrote:
Very tough funeral. Danny knew him all his life, they played baseball together on Nick Saban's team way back when. A wonderful friend. We will really miss him.

Such a nice man, really enjoyed talking to him and running into him at Wal-Mart on Saturdays. Also loved when Ed would umpire our softball games at Windmill Park and we could talk baseball and softball. My Dad really liked Ed and always talked how good a man he was. RIP, Eddie.

He always brought Molly (Eddie’s dog) in to see me at work. As soon as he opened the door he was hollering "Doesn't anyone work in this place!! What ya gotta do to get some help!!" Will truly miss him giving me a hard time. :(
