Demus sausage still going strong

It’s good to know that Demus Italian Sausage sandwiches are still alive, even though the Worthington Demus store closed two years ago.

Joe Demus was at the Mannington Fair selling them. Joe and his family offer their trademark sausage sandwiches at about 10 festivals/fairs a year.

Jane Pritchard Moore, Class of 1975, and Kathy Satterfield, a Fairmont West and Fairmont State grad who hangs out with Kitty Ahouse Satterfield, both scarfed down the treats.

Jane is on vacation, and considering a day trip. If the hip and back pains don’t impede her.

Nick Demus, Class of 1945, closed down Demus Market in 2012 to end a 55-year run in Worthington.

When it came time to take over the store, Nellie Demus Bailey, Class of 1938, moved from Indiana to share that task with brother Nick.

Demus and Monongah High had a long relationship. There was Rose Demus, Class of 1939; Joan Demus, Class of 1941;  Rose Demus Argiro, Class of 1941, who married Larry Argiro; Michael “Mickey” Demus, Class of 1948; Theresa Demus, Class of 1950; Jim Demus, Class of 1954; Ramona Rose Demus, Class of 1971, who died in 1977, and Nick Demus III, Class of 1973.

And I probably missed some, too.
