Fairmont buys Adams Street buildings
By Lauren Talotta, WBOY-TV Marion and Taylor County Reporter

(I continue to be forced to use WBOY-TV, as you can, too, for free access to Marion County news since the Fairmont Times refuses to allow it, even for obituaries, which are NOT the intellectual property of the Times, courts have ruled. Just go to WBOY's web site if you want free information about Marion County.)

FAIRMONT - Main Street Fairmont continues its revitalization efforts in downtown area and beyond.

Main Street Executive Director Kate Greene gave Marion County Commission an update today, including Main Street's purchase of two connecting buildings downtown located on Adams Street.

Greene said the property will be an asset to the community.

"It is a building that is designed as two separate buildings, but they share an interior second floor. Our goal was to own both buildings. Those are scheduled to be redeveloped as affordable housing on the second floor and retail on the second floor."

Main Street Fairmont is presenting its connectivity plan to city officials in hopes it will be part of the comprehensive plan.
