Tropeas: Italy to Argentina and Monongah

It amazes me how often the circle makes a full journey.

There’s retired George Washington University professor Joseph Tropea, the grandson of Domenico Tropea, brother of Monongah’s famous Tony Tropea of Tropea Grocery fame on Camden Avenue next door to Carlot’s Grill.
Joseph Facebooked from Argentina, which is where many Tropeas went when they left  Italy.
Writes Joseph:
John:
"Tony Tropea was my great uncle. Domenico, his brother, was my grandfather.
“Our branch of the family moved from Monongah to Star City, then to Detroit, Michigan.
“An interesting note: most of Tony and Domenco's family emigrated from Italy to Argentina, from where I am writing this message.”
The children of Tony and Rose Loss Tropea are Christine Tropea Jacobin, Class of 1935,  and Leo Jacobin, Class of 1933, who died in 1998; Helen Tropea Riggs Bieglecki, who married Edmund Bieglecki and lived in Wolverine, Michigan; Vincent Tropea; Marguerite Tropea Matthews, Class of 1926, who married Simon Matthews, and was the mother of Simon Paul Matthews, Jr., Class of 1956; and Virginia Tropea Neri, Class of 1931, who married Peter Neri.
Christine’s son, Leo Jacobin, Class of 1959, lives in Lakewood, Colorado, with wife Roberta and works in Denver.
Small world, huh?
