Sandy Lipinski Hawkins’ husband passes away

Charles “Chuck” Hawkins, husband of Sandra Lipinski Hawkins, Class of 1962, passed away Saturday, Dec. 19.

Chuck’s sister-in-law, Henrietta Lipinski Hawkins, Class of 1959, passed away Sept. 6. She was a daughter of Henry “Cheese” Lipinski and Goldie DeFazio Lipinski. Henrietta’ widower is Fred Hawkins of Fairmont.

Henrietta’s sister, Judy Lipinski Cook, Class of 1958, passed away Sept. 11.
Another sister, Joyce Lipinski Evans, Class of 1969 (and husband Donnie, Class of 1969) live in Monongah. Joyce is a teacher at Jayenne Elementary School on Country Club Road in Fairmont.

(Died December 19, 2015)

Charles “Chuck” Edward Hawkins, 70 of Monongah passed away on Saturday December 19, 2015 at Ruby Memorial Hospital surrounded by family with prayers led by Deacon Lou Belldina and Father Dass from Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

 Chuck was born December 28, 1944 in Fairmont, son of the late Earl Hawkins and Betty Ridgely Hawkins.

 Chuck was retired from the Plumber and Pipe Fitters Local 152. He was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Monongah, where he was very active in the church, he was an Eucharistic Minister, worked Holy Spirit bingo, and was the delivery driver for the Woman’s Easter Eggs. He volunteered at the Soup Opera & the Salvation Army where he helped with the Christmas toy drive and many other projects. He was a member of the Democratic Men's Club and was the 2014 Democratic Man of the Year. He was a member of the Fairmont Marion Council Knights of Columbus and a 4th degree member. He was on the bocce ball and the bowling league.

 Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years Sandra Lipinski Hawkins, his mother-in-law Goldie Lipinski who he visited twice a week at the nursing home, a brother Richard Earl Hawkins of Fairmont, a sister Patricia Richards and husband Jim of Fairmont, a sister Lynne Waller of Fairmont, sister and brothers-in- law Judy Cook and the late Joseph Mickey Cook, Donnie & Joyce Evans, Fred Hawkins and the late Henrietta Hawkins, and special nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

 Family and friends may visit at Domico Funeral Home 414 Gaston Ave. Fairmont on Tuesday from 1 until 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday 10 a.m. At the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Monongah with Father Dass as Celebrant. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Monongah. Vigil service will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home with Deacon Louis Belldina officiating. There will be a Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Service Tuesday evening in the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.domicofh.com .
