Author showcase in Fairmont Dec. 13
The Marion County Reading Council’s
first Author Showcase will be 1-3 p.m. Sunday, December 13 at 406 Alta Vista
Avenue in Fairmont.
Nine
West Virginia and award winning authors will be present to autograph their
books, which will be available for purchase. There will be a bake sale and the
raffling off of items donated by local merchants.
Authors
who will attend include Lisa Myers McCombs, Class of 1977, author of “I Have MS
– What’s Your Superpower?” and several children's books and Monongah Middle
School language arts teacher; Fairmont’s Diana
Pishner Walker, a Clarksburg Notre Dame graduate who wrote ”I Don’t Want To Sit
In The Front Row Anymore” and “Spaghetti and Meatballs: Growing up Italian” ;
Georgeann Swiger, The Trinity Series (“Adorned,” “Cloven” and “Trivium”); and Linda Tomlinson,
Class of 1955, who lives in Monongah (“Chetty T. Chipmunk,” "The Ghost of Maple Road," "They Came to the Mine," “Monongah 1949” and “The Gnome’s Dome.”
