Suzanne Barr Baczuk, Class of 1948, the widow of Arnold “J.B.” Loss, Class of 1947, is in Pierpoint Center on Country Club Road in Fairmont.

In 2009, Genesis HealthCare, which operates more than 200 skilled nursing centers and assisted living residences in 13 eastern states, assumed management of Wishing Well Health Center and Wishing Well Manor. 

Wishing Well Health Center, a 119-bed skilled nursing facility, changed its name to Tygart Center at Fairmont Campus. 

Wishing Well Manor, with a 120-bed skilled nursing and a 52-unit assisted living facility, changed its name to Pierpont Center at Fairmont Campus for the skilled nursing component and Wishing Well Assisted Living Community at Fairmont Campus. 

Arnold passed away January 7, 2014. They lived in Mill Fall on the property once owned by Frank Loss and Gezala Futten Loss. Gezala’s sister was Lena Futten Olesky, mother of Jackie Olesky Straight, Class of 1955, and John Olesky, Class of 1950.

Suzi and Arnoldl's son, David Loss, lives on the Loss property with wife Mary. Another son, Mike Loss, lives on Harter Hill with Susie Jett. A third son, Elliott Barr Loss, is deceased.

Arnold’s sister, Rosemary Loss Hartman, lives in Phoenix, Arizona.

Also predeceasing Arnold were sisters Mildred “Jean” Loss Carlot, who with husband Julie ran Carlot’s Grill across the street from Monongah High for decades, and Lucille Loss Blocker, wife of Richard Blocker of McCue Avenue,; and brothers Bernard Loss (his widow, Kathryn, lives in Monongah) and Don Loss.

Their parents were John “JB” and Josephine (Deiling) Loss, who lived a few houses from Sts. Peter and Paul School. The McKain family was in the home adjacent to the school.

Lucille and Richard’s children are Barbara Blocker Tennant of Fairmont, Alan Tennant and wife Rebecca of Elkins, Scott Blocker and wife Karen of Clarksburg and Vicki Blocker Nottingham and husband Tom of Worthington.
