TEN tables for Marion
Countians at West Virginia Day
There will be TEN
tables reserved for Marion Countians at the annual West Virginia Day Picnic that
will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 1 in The Villages, Florida. About 350 purchased tickets.
Pat Meredith Wills,
Class of 1950, who lives on Crescent Beach just south of St. Augustine Beach,
Florida with husband Don Wills, a Fairmont West graduate and former athlete,
will be there and seated at Table 19 with their son, Bill.
Larry Dan Eates, visiting his sister in Florida, was to be there, too, with 3 others but the flu bug scotched that plan. They will be heading back north on Wednesday.
Larry’s parents were Dominick Eates (passed in 2000), Class of 1946, and Mary Larry Eates from Carolina (passed in 1993).
Paula and I will be there, of course, since we're staying in The Villages. We'll be at Table 13, which is next to Table 19.
Even if you can’t make it for West Virginia Day in the Villages,
Paula and I will be renting in The Villages for three months (through March,
2015). If you’re near The Villages call John at (330) 388-4466 and we’ll
arrange a Monongah High mini-reunion of former Lions.
The
doors will open at 11 a.m. The catered meal will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the
Savannah Recreation Center, 1575 Buenva Vista Boulevard, The Villages, Florida.
You can
be sure that Lions will be roaring.
