1907: Can’t forget it

Adam Michna unearthed a slide show of the 1907 Monongah No. 6 and No. 8 mines’ explosions that killed 362 officially and probably 500 or more according to Father Briggs and the gravediggers.

It still is the worst coal mining tragedy in American history even though more than 3,000 miners died that year in mines across the country.
