Once a Mountaineer . .
For the third time in this
decade, The Mountaneer will serve for a second year. Michael Garcia, the 63rd
Mountaineer, got the role for another year.
The Fairmont native comes from a family
of WVU alumni. As the Mountaineer, Garcia has traveled to 35 counties in the
state, represented the university at more than 200 sporting events and has
traveled nationally to represent the university.
He also shot a brown bear while in his
Mountaineer costume, but school authorities warned him not to misuse his mascot
job again.
