Mill Falls native Bill Taylor passes away

Bill Taylor, who grew up in Mill Falls, passed away Monday, Feb. 2 in Tallmadge, Ohio.

He left West Virginia as a teenager, and graduated from high school in Akron, Ohio.

TALLMADGE -- William Hoy Taylor, 81, passed away after an extended illness on February 2, 2015.

Born October 30, 1933 in Mill Fall, West Virginia to Guy and Golda Willoughby Taylor, Bill came to Akron as a teen and was mentored in auto body by Marple Riffle at Riffle's Garage.
He went to the Army and came back and worked at Wilbeth Auto Sales. Bill graduated from North High Evening School in 1968 and taught auto body at Norton High School for two years. He retired in 1996 from Klaben Ford.

He was preceded in death by his parents; baby daughter, Maryann; and brother, Ernie.

Bill is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nancy; daughters, Denise Taylor of Akron and Tracy (Lee) Gidden of Tallmadge; extended family Judy and Mike Yohe and their children, William West and Merideth Bisel, Chad (Nancy and Lily) Harris; Brandy Johnston; grandchildren, Loren, Megan, Christian Perkowski and their father Gregg, Tucker and Chuck Gidden; sister, Vonda Douglas; brothers, Homer (Renea), Charlie (Carol), Tom (Sandy); uncle, French (Mary) Taylor of Cuyahoga Falls; aunt, Martha Taylor of West Virginia; many special cousins, nieces, and nephews. He loved all his friends from the Tallmadge Rec Center, Brimfield Steak House, and "cute as a speckled pup", friend, Joey DeBarr.

He will be missed by Bingo his dog and best buddy.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday (TODAY), February, 5, 2015 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle) and also one hour prior to the service on Friday. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 6, 2015 at the funeral home, with Pastor Steve Salyers officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Gideons International, P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214 or Southeast Church of The Nazarene, 771 Dunbar Rd., Tallmadge, OH 44278.
