Hazing Arrest Made in Connection With Death of WVU Student Nolan Burch
A New York man has been arrested for hazing in connection with the death of WVU student Nolan Burch.
Richard Schwartz, 20, was arrested and charged with one count of hazing and one count of conspiracy to commit hazing, according to court documents.
Schwartz was Burch's "Big Brother" in the Big/Little Initiation ceremony for Kappa Sigma in November. That ceremony, and the drinking activities that transpired during it, is believed to be what caused Burch's death in November.
Schwartz is also from the same hometown as Burch.
According to court paperwork, Schwartz is accused of providing a bottle of liquor for Burch and also helping carry him back to the fraternity house after he was found unresponsive.
