I received
an email that took exception to me writing that Monongah Hometown Christmas was
“dead in the water.” Point well taken.
It is “dead in the water” for 2014, but
Chris Martin, Monongah’s premier photographer, is working on performing a
Lazarus for 2015.
I stand
corrected. And happily so.
My apologies for not being precise, as a 43-year
newspaper editor should be, even in retirement.
The email:
I did look at your Hometown Christmas post. John, we are not dead in the
water as you suggested. Working on next year as I speak. You are a
retired reporter and please do not blow everything up as a huge headline.
Thalamus Chris
No Monongah Hometown Christmas for 2014
Monongah Hometown Christmas for 2014 is dead before
the first planning meeting was held, according to Chris Martin,
Monongah’s premiere photographer, who was in charge of the event.
Posted Chris:
“Sorry, but Monongah Hometown Christmas will not take
place this year. Future plans are in the works.”
No further explanation.
There had been a Monongah Hometown Christmas planning
meeting scheduled for Oct. 20.
The 2013 Monongah Hometown Christmas
show was held Dec. 14. The Jenna Won’t Sing Band performed in 2013.
