Agnes Urich Garcia passes away

Agnes Urich Garcia of Four States, sister of Allena Urich Cunningham of Monongah, passed away Saturday, Oct. 4.

Their parents were Pete and Anna Phillips Urich of Booth, West Virginia.

Doris Stanley Urich, Class of 1947, of Swisher Hill, widow of the Rev. Stanley Urich, is her sister-in-law.

Agnes Garcia, 85, of Four States, passed away Saturday, October 4, 2014, at St. Barbara’s Memorial Nursing Home in Monongah. She was born December 26, 1928, in Booth, W.Va., daughter of the late Pete and Anna (Phillips) Urich.

Agnes is survived by her husband, Andres “Andy” Garcia; a sister, Allena Cunningham of Monongah; a sister-in-law, Doris Urich of Swisher Hill; granddaughters, Mandi (and Phil) Sivak and Amanda (and Greg) Apanowitz; great grandchildren, Maddie Ralston, Brandon Ralston, Jacob Ralston, Dylan Apanowitz, Rylan Apanowitz; nieces and nephews, Louis (and Valerie) Koldres, Retta (and Jim) Herron, Connie Cameon, Donald Cunningham Jr., Andrea (and Tim) Huffman, Shelly (and Ed) Daniels, Cecilia (and Steve) Petitto, Ray Oliverio, Louis (and Rosanne) Oliverio; several great nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Martha Henderson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael “Spike” Kolosoff. She was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Rev. Andy Urich, Mary Koldres, Joseph at infancy, Helen at infancy; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ramon and Etelvina Garcia; and two brothers-in-law, Donald Cunningham and Louis Koldres.

Agnes was formerly employed with Owens Illinois in Fairmont. She was involved in the Four States community and was especially concerned with caring for animals. She was Catholic by faith.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to St. Barbara’s nursing home and Fairmont Hospice for the wonderful care given to Aggie.

Family and friends may call at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave. in Fairmont from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday October 7, at The Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Monongah with Father S.A. Arokiadass as Celebrant. Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery in Grafton, W.Va. Condolences may be sent online to the family at www.domicofh.com .
