Felix A. Colisino, Class of 1947, who put the wickedest spin on the ping pong ball during our CYO gatherings in St. Stanislaus Church’s basement, is among Monongah High Alumni with October birthdays. Felix – or Junior as we called him when he was demolishing us in table tennis – will be celebrating his birthday Oct. 11.

The last address I have for Felix and wife Bonnie is Kennard, Indiana. They have sons Felix Colisino, which makes him III in line with that name, and Vincent.

After Monongah High and Fairmont State, Felix worked at CPS, which is into the corrugated boxes industries that package food products like baked goods and pizza. It is in Westfield, Indiana, an Indianapolis suburb.

Sherry McIntire, Class of 1975, has a birthday Tuesday, Oct. 7. She worked for 12 years with Aegis Communications Group, grew up in Worthington as Cheryl Diana McIntire but lives in Bingamon.

Valderie Vandetta Aldridge, Class of 1973, with a Wednesday, Oct. 8 birthday, worked at Fairmont General Hospital and lives in Monongah with husband Jim Aldridge.

Mary Frances Miller Myers, Class of 1951, was at the 2005 and 2010 Monongah High Alumni Reunions.

Jay Holman, Class of 1971, lives in Carolina and is active in Class of 1971 reunions.

Fairmont East grad Brenda Manzo is married to Danny Manzo, Class of 1957, on the 1955 Monongah High state championship football team. They have lived together in Monongah since 1967.

Leona “Duckles” Davis Schooley, Class of 1953, and Pat Meredith Wills, Class of 1950, were inseparable at Monongah High. Duckles works at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino in Maricopa, Arizona, south of Phoenix.

Dorman Keith Beckner, Class of 1942, is the father of Rhea Lee Beckner Hillberry of Littleton, Colorado, and fisherman extraordinaire Roger Keith Beckner. He had the nickname of “Legs” when he played football for Monongah High.

Ken Slovekosky is a Gilmer County High 1976 grad but says he went to Monongah Junior High “till it burned down.” He’s the adopted son of Walter Slovekosky. He lives in Jackson, Tennessee with wife Julie, who is from Indianapolis.
