Monongah & Pitt trivia

Monongah began as Briar Town in 1866.

Then it became Camdensburg, named after Johnson N. Camden, United States Senator from West Virginia (1881–1887).

In 1891 it became Monongah, short for Monongahela, the river that the West Fork River that runs through Monongah flows into on its way to the Ohio River in Pittsburgh.

So, in a way, people in Monongah have been urinating on Pitt for a long time.

Which is less crude that the chant about Pitt that rhymes with Pitt that you hear at Mountaineer Field every game, no matter who WVU is playing.
