CATCHING UP WITH

Mike & Mickey Salai Satterfield
Mickey Salai Satterfield

Garnett Mickey Salai Satterfield, Class of 1967, and husband Mike Satterfield, a Fairmont East graduate, have homes in The Villages, Florida and in Colfax.

They bought their home in The Villages where 114,000 senior citizens have more than 300 activities to choose from every day, in 2006. They live near Sumter Landing in The Villages.

Mickey says she lived in Monongah, growing up on McCue Avenue and attending Thoburn School, till she moved to Colfax. Her Monongah High senior photo lists her as Helens Run, which is where Nick Saban's father had a service station.
While The Villages is enticing for year-round living, if you don’t mind summer temperatures pushing 100, the Satterfields make frequent returns to Monongah, where Mickey’s  mother, Monongah High grad Colleen Salai, lives.

That’s why they’ll miss the West Virginia Reunion at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 6 in The Villages. It’s run by Fairmont East graduate Karen Rodriquez, who is Mike Satterfield’s cousin.

Small world.

Mickey’s siblings are Frank Salai, Class of 1973 – Morgantown;  Debra Salai Rush, Class of 1975 – Fairmont; and  Bryan Salai – Connecticut.
There's also a Jim Salai, Class of 1966, among Salai MHS graduates.

If you want to phone or email Mickey to catch up with your former classmate or friend’s life since Monongah High:
