Theresa Marie Damico, 90 of Monongah, passed away Sunday February 14, 2016 of natural causes. Theresa was born December 30, 1926, in Fairmont, to the late John and Mary Bluemetto Bonfantino. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers Alfred Bonfantino and John Bonfantino, II and her nephew John Bonfantino, III.

Theresa was a graduate of Fairmont Senior High School and would eventually work for  more than 30  years in the Meat Department of Thorofare Market on Country Club Road. While at Thorofare she became active with the United Food and Commercial Workers Union as a steward and organizer, often taking a leave of absence from the store to help with Union organization campaigns. In 1982 she became the Marion County Senior Aide Director where she remained until her retirement in 1991.

She is survived by her daughter Trudy Anderson and husband Charles of Fairmont; her brother Lenny Bonfantino and wife Linda of Monongah; her sister Rosemary Newbrough of N.J.; her grandchildren Natalie Jefferis and husband Andrew of Pittsburgh, PA; Meredith Dailer and husband Jacob of Wheeling, WV and Tyler Anderson of Morgantown, WV; her nephew Frank Bonfantino and wife Linda of Fairmont, her niece Marlene Gaston and husband Stanley of Mannington and three great-grandchildren Trey Jefferis, Tessa Dailer and Cal Dailer.

Nana, as her grandkids and great-grandkids called her, was an avid sports fan and loved watching her Mountaineers and Steelers. For years, she also enjoyed local bingo games often attending with close friends. Above all, she cherished her time with her loving daughter and son-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the Domico Funeral Home 414 Gaston Ave. Fairmont, Tuesday Feb. 16 from 2 until 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday Feb. 17, at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Monongah at 10 am. with Father S.A. Arokiadass as celebrant.  Vigil service will be Tuesday 7 pm in the funeral home with Deacon Louis Belldina officiating.
