Paula Cottrill, who died in an auto tragedy Monday, February
15, was a half-sister of Bob Cottrill, Class of 1950, Bill Cottrill and the
late Chatta Belle Castro.
They all had the same father, who remarried after divorcing
his first wife, but different mothers.
Bob
married Thelma, also widowed, after Bob’s wife Barbara passed away. Thelma and
Barbara were friends for years. Thelma and Bob married in 2011.
Bob lives in Melbourne, Florida. Bill lives in Morgantown.
Chatta lived in Shinnston before her passing December 25.
Chatta was married to Johnny Retton, who was killed in a coal
mine accident. Johnny, Theresa and Anna were the children of Tom Retton, who
lived on Jackson Street and once rescued my motionless body from the holler
between Jackson and Thomas Street, where the Olesky family lived before moving
across the street to Church Street.
