WVU has more non-residents than
in-staters in its freshman class and ranked 4th nationally in that
category.
That includes 5% from other
countries.
Only #3 University of Maryland, #2
University of Delaware and #1 University of Alabama, at 63%, have a higher
percent of out-of-state students.
StartClass arrived at these rankings
based on data from the National Center for Education statistics.
WVU’s total enrollment of 28,776 and
matches the freshman class with 49% in-state and 51% non-resident students.
They are taught by 1,847 full-time
and 617 part-time professors and instructors.
The WVU student body averaged a 3.45
grade point average in high school, which is nearly halfway between straight A’s
and straight B’s.
The Morgantown institution provides
about $400 million in financial aid, and average of nearly $17,000 per grant.
In-state tuitions and fees are $7,992, in addition to many $4,000 Promise scholarships for in-state high school grads. Non-residents pay $22,488 in tuitions and fees. Room and board expenses average $9,626.

the Forbes list of Best Buy Colleges.
