Dewey Delovich: Golfer & now restaurant owner

Dewey Delovich, North Marion Class of 1987, is handy with a golf club just like his late father, Homer Delovich, Monongah Class of 1948.

Apparently he scores well in a restaurant kitchen, too. He’s the kitchen manager overseeing street tacos, taco salads, rice bowls, fish, shrimp and ceviche. And drinks like Sunsets and Margaritas.

Dewey, who lives on Johns Island, South Carolina and is assistant pro at the Kiawah Island, South Carolina, Cassique Club, wrote:

“As many of you know, I am now the proud co-owner of Nacha Mama's Taqueria in Bohicket Marina! This Thursday (May 5) is our official grand opening and I would like to extend an invite to everyone! Hope to see you all there!”
The restaurant is on Seabrook Island.
Fairmont State grad Dewey still wins hundreds of dollars in Carolina PGA events with his golf skills.
He is married to Adrianne Tetrick Delovich, daughter of Rocky Tetrick, Class of 1964.

Dewey met Adrianne at Green Hills in Everson when she was in college and working at the golf course’s restaurant and bar. The couple married in 2000 and have a daughter, Marley.

Dewey won the Green Hills Country Club trophy named for Homer. Dewey played in the West Virginia State Amateur with Homer years ago. The club championship was renamed for Homer after his death in 2000.

Dewey was West Virginia high school Class AAA golf champion in 1968.

Homer is buried in Monongah’s Mohammedan Cemetery. His widow is Anne Tarley Delovich, Class of 1952.

Ronnie “Coolie” Delovich, Class of 1952, passed away in 1969. Mary Ann Delovich Matheney is Class of 1976 and Eva Marie Delovich is a North Marion Class of 1982 graduate.
