Julia Yanero Romano passes away

Julia Yanero Romano, aunt of Susan Colaneri Monell, Class of 1949, passed away Sunday, May 15.

Susan is from California.

The Yanero family has ties to the Salvati, Feltz and Colaneri families. Julia’s godchildren include three members of the Coniglio family.

Julia Romano
(December 1, 1928 - May 15, 2016)

Julia Romano, 87, of Fairmont passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016.  She was born December 1, 1928, in Fairmont, daughter of the late Joseph and Susan Romano Yanero.      

Julia was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church.  She retired from Owens Illinois and was an alumna of Fairmont Senior High School.  Julia was known for the goodness, kindness, wisdom, and generosity to all.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include: three nieces, Susan Colaneri Monell  of California, Janet S. Salvati of Fairmont, and Edith Feltz of Fairmont; a nephew, Thomas L. Salvati and wife Patricia of New Manchester, WV; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by four Godchildren, Rena Feorene, Gregory Coniglio, Louie Coniglio, and Lire Nick Coniglio.

In addition to her parents, Julia was preceded in death by three brothers, Phillip Yanero, William Yanero and Gerald Yanero; and five sisters, Rose Yanero, Madalyn Salvati, Mary Romano, Philis Feltz, and Frances Colaneri.

The Family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, Fairmont 414 Gaston Ave., Thursday, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Deacon David Lester officiating.
