Christmas lights fundraiser has a full house

All the table sites have been purchased for the Saturday, June 4 Huge Multi-Family Yard Sale to buy more Christmas street lights for Monongah.

That’s the word from a giddy Susan Staron Sanders, Class of 1971, an administrative assistant at Personnel, who says the rapid response “thrills me to pieces.”

Susan and her cadre of helpers -- Valerie Vandetta Aldridge, Class of 1973; Teena Field Ailstock, 1984 North Marion grad; and Mareca Savonarola -- raised money to erect the Christmas street lights that White Hall donated to Monongah for Christmas 2015.

Now they want to get more lights for even more Christmas cheer in Monongah. Thus the yard sale.

So all the table sites are gone, at $10 a table or $5 if you bring your own table.

Susan -- who lives on Thomas Street with husband Ron Sanders and next door to Mayor Greg Vandetta and his wife, Janice Manzo Vandetta -- isn’t closing the door on more people showing up to sell items. “If anyone would like to bring a table for outside, please do. The Pavilion is full also.”

If you want to join the thriving venture, call Susan at (304) 365-2074.

Susan and friends will be at the Monongah Town Hall at 5:30 p.m. Friday, June 3 to set up the tables. The sale will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 4.
