Jim Birdsell back at work

Monongah Company 10 Volunteer Fire Department member Jim Birdsell, who suffered a broken back in January, returned to work today.

Reports Jim:

“First day back to work went well. I was glad to be back.”

The North Marion grad is a son of Edwin Birdsell, whose father is Byron Birdsell, Class of 1947, and a nephew of Bill Birdsell, Class of 1950.

He lives in Millersville with wife Angela.

“Back to work” is in parts at Leslie Equipment.

 

Byron was a long-time Monongah mailman.

Jim’s a tough nut to crack. He recovered from quadruple bypass heart surgery in 2014.

The late Bill married Fairmont Field Club pro Reggie Spencer’s daughter, Barbara, and became a golf course maintenance guru in Florida where Bill’s son is in charge of the greenkeeping at the University of Florida. Barbara also is deceased.
