Only the Dalí Theater-Museum created by Dalí in his hometown of Figueres, Catalonia, Spain, has a larger Dali collection.

Treasure Island is adjacent to St. Petersburg, Florida between Madeira Beach and St. Petersburg Beach along the Gulf of Mexico. You take St. Petersburg’s Central Avenue, the main west-east thoroughfare, to the Treasure Island Causeway that takes you to Treasure Island.

It’s a 1½-mile peninsula of white sandy beaches and the pristine Gulf of Mexico. John’s Pass and Madeira Beach are to the north.

Every year in November, sand sculptors from around the world compete for the grand prize in Treasure Island’s Sand Sculpting Contest.
