Monongah half-marathon, 5K run Nov. 16

The Marion County Parks and Recreation Commission Miles of Smiles Half Marathon / 5K Monongah Rails to Trails run will begin Sunday, Nov. 16, at the West Fork Rail Trail on Bridge Street.

The half-marathon will start at 2 p.m., the 5K at 2:30 p.m. one block from the Monongah Town Hall. Participants will run on level dirt road, rail trail and paved road. Trophies will go to the top three female and top three male finishers in both categories.

Jim Cummings is leading Mark Ellis in the MCPARC series men’s standings. Hannah Pride is ahead of Cecelia Lodge in the series’ women’s standing.
