Greg Patrick,
Class of 1970, Fairmont Catholic social studies teacher and leader of the Jenna Won’t Sing Band,
still is battling the medical problem that revealed itself while he was en
route to the Ukraine.
So far in 3 weeks: 3 catheters, 3 trips to
the doctor. Next: A scope Tuesday to see how it’s going.
Greg put off permanent treatment so he
could continue his visit with friends in the Ukraine, opting to wait till he
returned to America.
The Ukraine doctor recommended surgery.
America physicians are trying other tactics.
Greg wants to reach the light at the end of
the tunnel. “I want a solution,” he writes.
After a childhood in
Monongah, Patrick graduated from Fairmont State University with a degree in
education and got a master’s
degree at West Virginia University.
In 2000, Greg returned to Monongah to care for his ailing father and has lived in my birthplace town ever since.
