Another Manzo wedding anniversary

Today – Wednesday, June 22, Ron Manzo, Class of 1969, is celebrating 42 years of marriage to 1971 Fairview graduate Manzo and Janice Manzo.

Tomorrow, he’ll observe his birthday. Big week for Ron, a retired coal miner. Janice is into physical therapy at Lakeview Fitness Center.

 

Last year Ron and Janice were in The Alps for their wedding anniversary. Wonder how they’ll top that this year?

Ron and Janice have five children – Andrew, Evan, Aaron, Ashley and Jared. They have two grandchildren in Illinois.

Andrew is production editor of the Villages Sun, the daily newspaper that has about 60 pages every day, chockfull of more than 300 activities for the 119,000 The Villages, Florida residents to enjoy every day.

 

Ron’s sister is Monongah’s First Lady, Debbie Manzo Vandetta, Class of 1973, married to Monongah Mayor Carl Vandetta.

 

Ron’s uncles were Ernie “Frog”, Joe, John “Duke” Manzo, Class of 1945; and Raymond “Pigeon” Manzo, Class of 1947.

 

Ron and Debbie’s parents are Helen Cecelia Manzo and Phil Manzo.

 

Fairmont East grad Brenda Manzo and Danny Manzo, Class of 1957, celebrated their 53rd  wedding anniversary June 1.

 

Brenda, who organizes reunions for the Honeybees and their honeys, and Danny have lived in Monongah since 1967.


Danny was on the 1955 Monongah High state champ football team and was co-captain with Joe Meffe of the 1956 Monongah High state football title game runnerup.

There was a Manzo at Monongah High from 1935 through 1949 and 1969 through 1978 (the year before the final 1979 MHS graduation class that preceded the consolidation into North Marion High).

Larry Dan Eates, Class of 1970, known as Dan Eates at Monongah High, will be celebrating his 42nd wedding anniversary July 6 with Farmington High graduate Frances Victor Eates.

Larry Dan’s parents were Dominick Eates, Class of 1946, and Mary Larry Eates.

Larry Dan and Frances’ children are Jo Ann Eates Horne, married to Kyle Horne and living in Washington, Pennsylvania; J.D. Eates and wife Julie, who live in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and Sarah Eates, who lives in Dormont, a Pittsburgh suburb.
