Arlene Kitchin, wife of Joe Martin, Class of 1957, fell getting out of the car in their Treasure Island, Florida driveway on Thursday.

That led to a trip to the Emergency Room. She’ll have surgery by Dr. Alexander on Wednesday on her chipped knee cap. She also has a torn tendon.

Arlene is headed for 4 to 6 weeks in a wheelchair.

Arlene recalls:

“One minute all was fine. Next thing I knew I was face down in a pool of blood from my bloody nose. Went to ER.”

She added: “Goodbye, summer.”

Arlene was born in Nova Scotia, Canada. Joe and Arlene will celebrate their 11^th wedding anniversary in September.

Roy "Jaybird" Murphy's wife also suffered a cracked kneecap this year.
