Know how to reach these 1966 graduates?

Linda Sawyer Duckworth, Class of 1966, is trying to find missing 1966 graduates for the 2016 Monongah High Alumni Reunion, which will be Saturday, May 28 at the Knights of Columbus on Mary Lou Retton Drive in Fairmont.

The Class of 1966 is one of the honor classes. I know from personal experience how important gratifying it is to attend the honor class reunions since I attend the Class of 1950 honor class reunions in 2015 and 2010 and 2005 and 2002. No 1966 gathering has been lined up for Friday, May 27.

Linda just wants to get information and dinner-dance registration forms out to 1966 graduates in hopes of getting a passel of people from her class.

Other classes usually have Friday one-class gatherings, too.

Marlene Sandy, Class of 1966, attended the 2015 MHS Reunion, but gave no address of phone number.

Rick Davidson did the same thing when he attended in 2012.

Beverly Bates gave her phone number and address at the 2006 reunion.

So did Nancy Duncil Bush of Shinnston, Loretta Koski of Fairmont, Paula Garrett Morgan of Mannington, Carl Morris of Monongah, Paulette O’Connor of Manassas, Virginia and Marlene Sandy of Carolina in other reunions on the reservations lists provided to me by Donna Davis from 2005 through 2015.  

On the missing list, I have Cheryl McDonald of Worthington at (304) 287-2579 as of the 2006 reunion.


Since this article first appeared, Linda made serious headway in her quest to find and notify her Honor Class mates.

The sad news: Sterling Malcolm and Charles Shaver are deceased.

After reading this article, Jay Holman, Class of 1971, who is active with his honor class getting together its members, messaged my cellphone that Ed Black and Darlene Goines are deceased.

Jay always has been on top of things. Every class needs a Jay Holman to round up the troops.
