Debbie Harley Staley’s husband passes away

Bobby Staley, husband of Debbie Harley Staley, Class of 1977, passed away Wednesday, March 23.

They lived in Idamay.

Debbie’s father is the late Jim Harley, 1951 Farmington High graduate.

(July 29, 1958 - March 23, 2016)
Robert “Bobby” E. Staley, 57, of Idamay passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on July 29, 1958 in Morgantown, WV as a son to the late Earl and Pauline Staley.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 31 years, Debbie Harley Staley, whom he married on October 6, 1984.

Bobby was a 1976 graduate of Morgantown High School, a 1980 graduate West Virginia University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration and a Masters of Science Degree, and a 1996 graduate of Fairmont State University with an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing. Over the years he has worked in many organizations in the area as a Registered Nurse and last worked for People’s Hospice of UHC. In his youth, Bobby was an avid sportsman, playing baseball for numerous organizations such as Wes-Mon Little League, Babe Ruth, Morgantown High School, and Morgantown American Legion. In later years Bobby loved to golf, fish, and view sporting events from basketball to football and spending time with his grandsons.

After his cancer diagnosis, his sister Regina “Gina” Spencer of Fairmont began to care for him. From taking him to his treatments to making sure he and his wife, Debbie Harley Staley, had the necessities to make his life a little more comfortable. After a brave and arduous fight with pancreatic cancer, Bobby has finally gone home.  
He is survived by a daughter, Ali Staley; sister, Regina “Gina” Staley Spencer and her husband Drew Spencer; brother, Allen Maine and his wife Edna McCabe Maine; sister, Mary Guthrie and husband Stanley Guthrie; mother-in-law Jo Ann Harley; sister-in-law Robin Garrett and her husband Steve; brother-in-law James Harley and wife Nina; brother-in-law John Harley; sister-in-law Pam Efaw and husband Ed, and several nieces and nephews. Bob had three grandchildren Landon Freeman, Brody Anderson, and Easton Anderson, who were his absolute pride and joy and brought so much happiness to his life.

In addition, his parents Earl Staley, Jr. and Pauline Staley, and father-in-law James W. Harley preceded him in death.

The family welcomes friends and loved ones to Bobby and Debbie’s home for a memorial service on April 2, 2016 from 1pm-5pm to remember, celebrate, and commemorate Bobby’s life.
