Stella and Julie Angelucci in their Maryland home |
CATCHING UP WITH
181homes for Julie Angelucci
Julie Angelucci, who threw the game-winning touchdown pass to
Dennis Jones that won the 1952 state football title for Monongah High, the
Lions’ first, owns 181 homes in Maryland.
180 are the miniature houses that some of us put out for the
Christmas holiday season. The 181st home is their residence at 277
Oak Court in Severna Park, Maryland.
Julie was a teacher in the Anne Arundel
County school system in Maryland. They moved from Glen Burnie,
Maryland, where they lived from 1992 to 2012, to Severna Park.
Julie and
his wife of 26 years, Stella Kootsikas Angelucci, love to show off their
holiday decorated house. Angelucci is Italian for “Light of the Angels.”
Julie
certainly lit up Winfield in 1952 with his pass to Dennis Jones, which Dennis
lateraled to Larry Rankin for the 20-14 victory over Winfield.
Larry and
too many of the players on that team, and head coach Jim Feltz and Earl Keener,
are deceased.
Feltz
coached another MHS state champion team in 1955 and Keener was the head coach
for the 1968 and 1969 Lions title teams. The 5th and final state
football title was quarterbacked by Jay Feltz, Jim’s son.
Dennis
played football for West Virginia three years and retired as a major general in
the U.S. Army. He lives in Brentwood, Tennessee.
Jay played
for the University of South Carolina, where he still holds the Gamecocks record
for the longest punt (79 yards!). He coached high school football in South
Carolina for decades and still lives in the state.
Juanita
McNece Angelucci, Class of 1956, once was married to Julie.
Frances
Angelucci Fontana, Class of 1949, married Donald Fontana.
Angelucci
Trucking was in Marion County for three decades till it was dissolved by Mark
and Michael Angelucci in 1986.
Long-time
Farmington mayor, Buck Markley, and Patsy Colisino, once worked for Angelucci
Trucking, Patsy for 30 years.
North Marion and WVU graduate Michael Angelucci’s grandfather is
Julie’s brother. Michael lives in Farmington.
Mark is with the Fairmont Fire Department and a Fairmont State
graduate married to Kathy Byard Angelucci.
