Paul Yanero passes away

Paul Yanero, born in Monongah and a former Monongah High student, passed away Sunday, April 6 in Melbourne, Florida.

He was the brother of Richard Yanero, Class of 1971, of Dover, Delaware, once owner of Rick's Bellview Lounge in Fairmont. His sister, Dorothy “Dot” Evans, lives in Monongah.

Monongah High history is filled with Yaneros.

Paul Fredrick Yanero, 76 of Fairmont passed away Sunday April 6, 2014 in Melbourne, Florida. Paul was born November 28, 1937 in Monongah, WV, son of the late James Vincent Yanero and Laura Leah (Glover) Yanero.

Paul attended Monongah High School and retired from North Central Distributors. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He was also a member of the Fairmont Moose, Elks, and the American Legion, and a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church in Fairmont. Paul was an avid sports fan. Among his favorite teams were the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Pittsburgh Pirates and the West Virginia Mountaineers.

Survivors include his wife Ida E. Yanero; two daughters, Diana Yanero - Albert and husband Glenn of Melbourne, FL, Paula Bowers and husband Danny of Franklin, WV; four grandchildren Joshua Albert, Trista (Westfall) Kremer and husband Michael, Paul Shipco and his significant other Andrea, and Frank Shipco; seven great grandchildren, Savanah, Mikayla, and Justin Kremer, Konnor and Katin Shipco, and Lauren Shipco; a brother, Richard "Dick" F. Yanero and his wife Harriett of Dover, DE; and two sisters, Dorothy "Dot" Evans of Monongah, and Mary Grace Priester of Dover, DE.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by four brothers, James, Louis, John, and Gary Yanero; a sister, Betty Yanero Jones; two infant siblings who died at birth, Roger and Shirley Jean; and a great grandchild, Trista Hope.

The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave. Fairmont; from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday.  A Vigil Service will be held Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home with Deacon David Lester officiating. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday April 12, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church with Father Robert Perriello as celebrant. 

Entombment will follow at the Grandview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Full military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the Marion County Veteran’s Council.
