Michael Boord, NMHS Class of 1983, passes away
Michael Wade Boord, North Marion Class of 1983, who
attended Monongah High before the 1979-80 consolidation with North Marion,
passed away Saturday, April 5.
He is survived by his sisters, all North Marion
graduates: Anita Boord, Class of 1982; Lenora Boord Montgomery, Class of 1985;
and Betty Boord Haggerty, Class of 1988.
Mike is remembered for his jokes and for
playing basketball and cards with friends and family.

SHINNSTON — Michael Wade Boord, 48, of
Fairmont, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at the United Hospital
Center. He was born June 27, 1965, in Fairmont, a son of the late Gary and
Wanetah Musgrave Boord.
In addition to his parents, Michael was
preceded in death by his daughter, Tessa Cheyenne Boord.
Michael is survived by his two sons,
Ian Michael and Thomas Michael Boord, both of Morgantown; sisters, Anita Boord
of Fairmont; Lenora Montgomery and husband Todd of Bridgeport; and Betty
Haggerty and husband Vaughn of Lumberport; his nieces, Amanda Apanowicz and
husband Greg, Trina Rush and Abigail Montgomery; nephew, Hunter Rush;
great-nephew, Dylan Apanowicz; and great-niece, Rylan Apanowicz.
He was employed at Aegis
of Fairmont and was previously employed by Dollar General and Shop N Save in
Fairmont. Mike enjoyed spending time with his sons playing Legos. He was also a
huge fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Mountaineers. Mike served his
country in the U.S. Air Force.
The family would like to send a special
thanks to all the family and friends who visited, called and sent messages.
Friends will be received at the Harmer
Funeral Home, 300 Pike St., Shinnston, on Monday from 2-9 p.m. A funeral
service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 8 at 11 a.m. with
Pastor Bill Toothman officiating. Interment will follow at the Parrish Run
Cemetery in Marion County.
