Gotses, 91, passed away Sunday, April 13 at Fazio’s Eldercare in Stoney
Lonesome, run by Cora Fazio, who married David Fazio, son of Frances Olesky
Fazio and Renzy Fazio.

Julia Ann Gotses,
91, of Fairmont was born to eternal life, Sunday April 13, 2014 at Fazio’s Eldercare in Monongah, WV surrounded by her
loving family. She was born on July 27, 1922 in Chiefton, WV, daughter of the
late Frank and Helena (Sirockman) Skormsley.
She is survived by
two children, John Gotses of Fairmont and daughter Mary Leann Beveridge of
Fairmont. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Gotses who passed away in
October 2013; and also a son-in-law, Gary Beveridge in September of 2009. She
is also survived by the father of her children, Dr. Paul Gotses of Fairmont;
daughters-in-law, Ellen Gotses and Carol
Gotses, both of Fairmont; six grandchildren, Brian Gotses and wife Cathy of Oil
City, PA, Robert Gotses of Fairmont, John Paul Gotses, II and wife Meriah of
Fairmont, Michael, Julieanne, and Stephen Gotses of Wheeling, WV; and
daughter-in-law, Mary Gotses of Wheeling; great grandchildren, Jesse Ragon,
Aaron and Jordan Gotses of Oil City, PA, and Shawn Gotses of Fairmont; her step
granddaughters, Elissa Cavender of Scottsdale, AZ, Shelley Fernley of Scott
Depot, WV; and six step great grandchildren. She also leaves behind a sister,
Irene Cavrich of Fairmont; nieces, Barbara Biafore, Martha Hawkins, Helen Skormisley
of Fairmont; and a special niece Gayle Parker Walsh of Scranton, PA; a nephew,
Ron Skormisley of Fairmont; many great nieces and nephews; special friends,
Sarah Crayton, David Crayton and Kim Boyce, all of Fairmont, and Mary Perkins
of Rachel, WV.
In addition to her
parents, son, and son-in-law, Julia was preceded in death by seven brothers and
sisters, Charles Clark, Steve Skormsley, John Skormisley, Pat Floyd, Helen
Parker, Ann Yeager, and Mary McDonald.
Julia was a devout
Catholic by faith and attended the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Monongah, WV.
She loved making their famous peanut butter Easter eggs. She belonged to many
organizations including the Catholic Daughters, Alter and Rosary Society,
Monongah Homemakers, Ladies Auxiliary, and the Fairmont Women’s Club to name a
few. Julia enjoyed working the church bingos and playing cards and bingo with
her many friends. She also enjoyed her trips to Atlantic City with her friend
Dolores Joy.
The family would
like to thank Cora Fazio and her staff at Fazio’s Eldercare for the special
care given to Julia during her final week of life.
Friends and family
may call at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave. in Fairmont from 2 to 8 p.m.
Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday
April 16, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Monongah with Father Richard Ulam,
O.S.B. as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Monongah.
