A woman of her word

Susan Sanders, Class of 1971, who is spearheading the fundraiser to pay for erecting Christmas lights in the town of Monongah, is a woman of her word.

She asked for the name, address and donation total of everyone who sent a check to the Town of Monongah with “Christmas lights” in the memo field so that she could send thank-you notes to every one of them.

I got my thank-you note today for my donation, which matched what I was told was the cost of erecting one of the eight lights donated by the town of White Hall to Monongah.

And she’s doing all this despite health problems that kept her in her Thomas Street home in Monongah instead of attending a family wedding in Raleigh, North Carolina.

If you want to make Susan happy, mail your check to

Town of Monongah

Christmas lights

430 Bridge St

Monongah, West Virginia 26554-1004

In the Memo area of your check, write:

For Monongah Christmas lights

Then prepare to get a thank-you note from super Susan.
