Belated news on passing of Brooks
Lambert, Sr.
Adam Michna posted an obituary in
July on the Monongah History Facebook page that I missed because the passing
happened while I was having my annual summer visit in Michigan with my friend
since first grade, Bob Kasper, Class of 1950, at his Grand Lake summer home.
I apologize for missing it and then not catching up with the news when I returned home. But I may
not be the only former Lion to have not been aware of the sad news, so I’ll post this
article even though it’s four months late for those who remember Monongah’s Brooks
Lambert, Sr., who was only 51 years old.
Brooks’ sister is Peggy Sue Lambert
Hollabaugh of Monongah.
Other Lamberts at Monongah High:
Norma Lambert Preston, Class of 1968.
Paul Lambert, Class of 1973.
Richard Lambert, Class of 1975.
Brooks’ obituary (again, sorry for
being tardy on this one; I was out of state at the wrong time, I guess):
Brooks A. Lambert Sr.
(April 23, 1964 - July 26, 2015)
Brooks Allen Lambert, Sr., 51, of Monongah
went to be with his lord and savior on Sunday July 26, 2015 following an
unexpected illness. Brooks was born April 23, 1964 to the late Samuel
A. Lambert and Mary D. (Fortney) Lambert.
In addition to his mother, he is survived
by his wife, Pamela (Phillips) Lambert; three children, Brooks A. Lambert,
Jr. of Morgantown, Timothy Lambert and wife Cassie of Bellview, and Brooklyn
Sue Lambert and fiancé Trevor Zorko of Rachel; three grandchildren; one
brother, Samuel Richard and wife Sue (Rutter) of Shinnston; four sisters,
Peggy Sue Hollabaugh of Monongah, Patricia Anderson of Four states, Jean Anne
DeBarr and husband Joey, and Joy Curtis and husband Jack of Four
States; a mother-in-law, Peggy A. Minear of Clarksburg; and many nieces
and nephews.
In addition to his father, Brooks was
preceded in death by his son, Andrew Lambert; a sister-in-law, Bonnie
Lambert; a brother-in-law, Larry Anderson; a granddaughter, Korin Lambert;
and his wife, Tamara Mullinex Lambert.
Brooks was an avid hunter and
fisherman. He enjoyed extended trips with his wife, Pam, to their
hunting camp in Wetzel County. He was also a practical joker who lived
life to the fullest.
