It’s always fun when family and friends get together, particularly when WVU Mountaineers football is involved.

In this case, Debbie Manzo Vandetta and Monongah Mayor Greg Vandetta met Jerry and Denise Kiger, 1971 Mannington High graduates, when their children were in high school together.

The Kiger children are Erika and Micah. The Vandetta daughter, Jessica, cheered with Erika on the North Marion High state champion cheerleading squad.

Jessica graduated with Micah from North Marion in 1988. Micah was a member of the 1997 North Marion state championship football team that Jessica and Erika cheered for.

Jacob Eddy, the little guy standing in front, is Debbie and Greg’s grandson courtesy of Jessica and Sean.
