Mary Ann Sivak Davis’ brother passes away

Bill Sivak, brother of Monongah’s Mary Ann Sivak Davis, passed away Wednesday, March 25.

William Charles Sivak
(March 23, 1946 - March 25, 2015)
 

William Charles Sivak, “Awesome Bill from Barrackville”, 69, departed this life peacefully in his sleep at his home in Barrackville, WV, on Wednesday March 25, 2015.  Bill was born on March 23, 1946 in Joffery, PA.

Bill was a Christian and a man of strong faith.  He was a faithful member of the Barrackville United Methodist Church.

Bill was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother.  From his early Smithtown days, Bill had many friends.  All his life he was a good friend and a kind-hearted person.  Bill was humble and did not want praise, but he loved volunteer work and helping anyone in need.  He enjoyed fellowship with friends at Burger King and McDonalds, and will be greatly missed by all. 

At an early age, Bill worked at Bunner Brothers of Fairmont, WV and later, Garvin’s Dairy of Fairmont, and at Loveridge Mines #22 for thirty-five years.  He belonged to the local union #9909.  After his retirement he worked for the Town of Barrackville for three years.

Bill and his wife Carolyn traveled with their motor home and enjoyed NASCAR races and many family vacations.  Family gatherings were always a great joy.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-three years, Carolyn A. (Flint) Sivak; four daughters, Charlotte A. Cutright and husband Stan of Bridgeport, WV, Sherry Lynn Stewart and husband Thomas of Fairmont, WV, Lisa K. Walls and husband Robert of Morgantown, WV, and Katrina Jo Davis of Brandywine, WV; four grandchildren, William Jacob Sheme and wife Faythe, Cullin Stanford Cutright, Barrett Scott Davis, and Addison Paige Stewart, his latest “pride and joy”; three brothers, Andrew R. Sivak and wife Connie of Fairmont, WV, Nick A. Sivak and wife Terrie of Smithtown, WV, and Gary L. Sivak of Smithtown, WV; three sisters, Mary Ann Davis and husband “Chick” of Monongah, WV, Lola Grace Swisher and husband Dent of Fairmont, WV, and Elizabeth J. Reese of Fairmont, WV; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Grace and Andy Sivak of Smithtown, WV; and a granddaughter, Anna Marie Grubb.

Bill requested no public viewing and cremation as his disposition. Arrangements are through Domico Funeral Home in Fairmont.  A memorial service will be held at Barrackville United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 28^th at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Janice V. Smith officiating.  A fellowship comfort meal will be provided in the Church fellowship hall after the service.  All of Bill’s family and friends are welcome.
