Joe Grebouski passes away

Joe Grebouski, father of Charlene Grebouski Collins, Class of 1974, married to Monte Collins of Monumental, passed away Sunday, March 1 in Fairmont.

Joe's obituary:

Joseph Grebouski, 84 of Fairmont and formerly of Metz, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at the Pierpont Center in Fairmont with family by his side. He was born on March 19, 1930 in Hazelton, PA to the late Stanley and Lora Hawkins Grebouski.

He was raised in Hutchinson, WV by his mother and step-father Tony Fleece. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He liked to reminisce about his time as a cook while serving in the war. He retired from CONSOL Energy’s Loveridge Mine in 1992 with 40 years of service with no lost time accidents. He was a hard worker. He enjoyed working his land, cutting down trees, and mowing grass. He loved working his work shop. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Grebouski is survived by 4 daughters, JoAnna Harris of Fairmont, Charlene Collins and husband Monte Collins of Monumental, Faith Haught and husband Chuck of Moody Run, and Jody Bilotta and husband Chad of Fairmont; one step-son, Jonathan Mason and wife Cindy of Chambersburg, PA; 5 sisters, Geneva Hall of Shinnston, WV, Madonna Ashley of Pine Blush, WV, Patricia Denny of Martinsburg, WV, Deloris Helmick of Enterprise, WV and Paulette Morgan of Fairmont; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Mr. Grebouski was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte Kniceley Grebouski on May 6, 1970 and his second wife, Doris Faye Mason Grebouski on March 20, 2014; 3 brothers, Stanley Grebouski, Frank Grebouski and Nick Fleece; 5 sisters, Valeria Heavener, Helen Martin, Wanda Campbell, Antoinette Baker and Marie Vance.

Family and Friends may call at Masters Funeral Home in Mannington, WV on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 from 5-8:00pm and also on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 from 10-11:00am with funeral services beginning at 11am with Father Vincy Illeckal officiating.
