George Prahl
(November 29, 1924 - March 5, 2015)
George L. Prahl, 90, of Fairmont passed away March 5,
2015 at his home. He was born November 29, 1924 in Monongah, WV, son of the
late Paul and Beulah (Toothman) Prahl.
He was a disabled veteran of the U.S. Army serving during
WWII and was awarded with three Purple Hearts. He was an avid antique collector
and gardener.
George is survived by his wife Wilda “Woody”
(MaHaffy) Prahl; a stepdaughter, Tina Mike Peterson and husband Michael of
Fairmont, WV; a stepson, Jim Mike and Faye Mike of Minnesota; a brother,
Charles “Tinker” Prahl of Fairmont; two sisters, Sarah Deusenberry and Helen
Greffius, both of Fairmont; grandchildren, Christopher Prahl and wife Shy,
Heather Prahl, Kelly Lantz, and Jeremy Prahl; Andrea Peterson, Krysti Wolfe and
husband Roger, Christopher Mike and wife Mollie; great grandchildren, Kristofer
Prahl, Dylan Prahl, Alaina Peterson, Jacob Wolfe, Beau Mike, Betty Mike and
Josselyn Prahl.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by
six brothers, Edward, Clyde, Robert, James, Thomas and Jack; three sisters, Lorraine
Yaquinto, Betty DeVores and Coralie Delligatti; two sons, George Stephen Prahl
and Dennis Wayne Prahl.
The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home,
414 Gaston Ave. in Fairmont from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday and 10 to 11 a.m. Monday.
The funeral service will be held at noon Monday March 9, at the WV National
Cemetery in Grafton, with full military rights being performed by the Taylor
