Butch Nesselrotte passes away

Roger Lee “Butch” Nesselrotte, Class of 1962, passed away Thursday, May 12 at his Swisher Hill, Worthington residence.


The sons of Butch and wife Zana Kay Sanders Nesselrotte are Roger Nesselrotte, Swisher Hill, and William Nesselrotte, Fairmont.


William Nesselrotte, Class of 1970, Butch’s brother, lives in Fairmont.

Jim McDaniel, Class of 1960, who lives in Behobobeach, Delaware, remembers Butch.

Jim wrote:

“I knew Butch Nesselrotte very well.  I was shocked to hear of his passing. 

“His Dad, Arliss, operated the old A&P store in Worthington.  He was shot in the leg during a
robbery attempt at the store in the 50's.”

Roger Lee “Butch” Nesselrotte, 70, of Swisher Hill, passed away at 11:50am, Thursday, March 12, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Clarksburg, December 13, 1944 a son of the late Arliss and Edith Eleanor Fultz Nesselrotte.

Surviving are his wife of nearly 50 years, Zana Kay Sanders Nesselrotte, two sons, Roger Scott Nesselrotte, Swisher Hill, William Bart Nesselrotte, Fairmont, six grandsons, Corey Mason Nesselrotte, Brody Scott Nesselrotte, Tanner Luke Nesselrotte, Garret Paul Nesselrotte, Dylan Lee Nesselrotte, and Colt Sander Nesselrotte, one brother, William “Bill” Nesselrotte and his wife Toni, White Hall, sister-in-law, Mary McDaniel and her husband Gary, Fairmont, brother-in-law, Timothy “Tim” Sanders and his wife Janet, Plum Run, and sister-in-law, Shirley Sanders, Number Nine, uncle, Robert Fultz and his wife Jeanine, Clarksburg, uncle Walter Fultz and his wife Carolyn, Clarksburg, and aunt Carol Fultz, OH, nieces and nephews, Tyler Nesselrotte (Ali), Becky Wright, Andy McDaniel (Emmylou), Leslie Gordon (David), Stacey Griffith (Casey), Clay Sanders (Tracy), Michael Cox (Jennifer), Craig Cox (Jill), Brian Cox (Donna), Ann Shearer (Kenny), Bill Coburn (Sue).

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Harold Eugene “Gene” Sanders, Sr. and Ann Christie “Chris” Harley Sanders, his sister-in-law, Elva Ann Sanders Cox, brother-in-law, Richard L. Cox, brother-in-law, Harold Eugene “Skip” Sanders, Jr., grandparents, Ernest and Wilma Findley Fultz and grandmother, Sarah Duvall Nesselrotte.

Butch was an employee of Industrial Resources Inc. having retired with 25 years service. He was a member of the Barrickville United Methodist Church. The love of his life was his family and tinkering with his old cars.

Friends may call at the Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St., Shinnston from 2-8pm, Sunday where funeral services will be held at 11am, Monday, March 16, with Pastor David Huckins officiating. Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Enterprise. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the charity of your choice. Condolences may be extended to the family at
