A man drove his Ford Explorer off the road,
down a 100-foot embankment and into a creek off U.S. 19 in Monongah by the Monongah Auction at 1:30
p.m. Wednesday. The Marion County Rescue Squad extricated the driver from
the vehicle, using a rope rescue.
The Monongah Police Department received a
call about a reckless driver in the area just prior to the incident.
The driver was transported to a hospital for medical treatment. His name has not been released.
