federal firearm licenses: 63.39 (per 100,000 people).
According to the state Press Association, the number of gun
permits in West Virginia quadrupled from 11,160 in 2009 to 44,981 in 2013.
Texas has 31.14 per 100,000 people,
which is about half West Virginia’s ratio.
