Reva McDougal Ash, Class of 1950, is an energetic and bouncy widow living in Marietta, Ohio who has three sons, one daughter, eight grandchildren ranging in age from 4 to 38 and one great-grandchild.

She still sings in Sand Hill Methodist Church in Reno, a Marietta suburb, and is a regular for the Christmas Eve candlelight service warbling.

She also mows her own lawn, despite a knee replacement in 2000, even though the children and grandchildren offer to help, since her husband passed away in 2008.

Reva’s sister, Helen McDougal Mudry, lives on Swisher Hill, which makes her neighbors to Tony Orsini, Class of 1946, and wife Mary Louise Baker Orsini, who started with the Class of 1948.

Helen lives where Reva grew up while going to Monongah High, as did another sister, Edna Mae McDougal, who married James Saunders. Edna passed away in 2011.

Their brothers, Earl and Jimmy McDougal, live in North Carolina. Reva made trips there when “the boys were in the service.”

Reva “would like to” attend the May 23, 2015 Monongah High Alumni Reunion at Knights of Columbus on Mary Lou Retton Drive and the 7 p.m. Friday, May 22 Class of 1950/Class of 1955 combined dinner at the Three Ways Inn in Fairmont – if she can get her sister Helen McDougal Mudry to join her.

If you want to exchange memories with Reva, her phone number is (740) 374-9649 and her address is:

Reva McDougal Ash
170 Hazelwood Road
Marietta, OH 45750

If you have memories of the McDougal family of Swisher Hill, email John Olesky at jo4wvu@neo.rr.com and I’ll add them to this Monongah High Alumni blog.
