1965 an honor class at 2015 MHS Alumni Reunion
Also chances for MHS alumni to meet each other in Fairmont Dec. 30, in Florida Feb. 6 & March 1 & all of January-March

The Class of 1965 will be one of the honor classes for the 2015 Monongah High Alumni Reunion at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 23 at Knights of Columbus on Mary Lou Retton Drive in Fairmont.

Other honor classes include the Class of 1950 and the Class of 1955.

MHS Alumni Association President Linda Lopez Gandy wrote:

“To the 1965 class of Monongah High School: your 50-year reunion is coming. I will be sending out information. Every 50-year class has had such a good turnout, let’s follow their example. In May at Knights of Columbus.

“Linda Lopez Gandy
“President MHS ALUMNI”

Linda is Class of 1965.

Many MHS graduation classes also will get together on Friday, May 22, 2015. The Class of 1950 and the Class of 1955 will have a combined dinner at 7 p.m. Friday, May 22 at the Three Ways Inn. The Fairfield Inn, about  a mile from the restaurant, is the official lodging for the 1950 class members who are coming from out-of-town and don’t have friends or family for sleepovers in Marion County.

There will be other opportunities for Monongah High alumni reunions, too.

For example:

DECEMBER 30, 2014

John Olesky, Class of 1950, and his sister, Jackie Olesky Straight, Class of 1955, will be at the Three Ways Inn at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, WEATHER PERMITTING. Call John Olesky at (330) 388-4466 if you plan to join them so that John can let Three Ways Inn know how many people to make the reservations for.

FEBRUARY 6, 2015

The 3rd annual Monongah High Alumni Reunion/Sarasota will happen at noon Friday, Feb. 6, 2015 at the home of Bill Meredith, Class of 1957, who lives in Sarasota with wife Roleta, a Clarksburg Washington Irving High graduate.

If you live in Florida or will be vacationing there Feb. 6, 2015, call (330) 388-4466 or email John Olesky at jo4wvu@neo.rr.com to let him know if you think you can make it. We have to let Roleta know how many to prepare food for.

JANUARY-MARCH, 2015

John Olesky and Paula Tucker will be renting in The Villages, Florida for three months (January-March, 2015). If you’re near The Villages (it’s not far from Tampa or Orlando), call John at (330) 388-4466 and we’ll arrange a Monongah High reunion of former Lions.

John even has a second set of golf clubs in case anyone comes avisiting. Just saying.

MARCH 1, 2015

By the way, the annual West Virginia Day at The Villages, which draws 30,000 to 40,000 people, will be the first Sunday in March, as it is every year. This year it will be March 1, 2015.

Show up and you’re bound to run into someone you know. Or call John and we’ll get together.

The Villages’ phone book has a section that lists everyone by their Snowbird city. In December I saw 12 phone numbers of home owners listed under Fairmont.

West Virginia Day Picnic will be at 11 a.m. at the Savannah Center in the Villages. The cost is $18 per person and includes refreshments and a luncheon buffet.
