Federal aid for flood victims

President Trump declared disaster help for 12 West Virginia counties hit by flooding July 28-29, including Marion County, where Mannington took a major overwhelming from Buffalo Creek.

The assistance includes coverage of a large share of the cost of damages to public infrastructure and private property owners.

Assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses, and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster.
Individuals and business owners can apply by registering online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362).
